What Inspires me in Life by Jazzmy J.

Through our life, there have been countless moments we wished never occurred. When we think of a perfect life there never has been the want to overcome something. At the center of a perfect life, a person thinks they can avoid conflict. Although life has shown me that conflicts can lead to the greatest growth of character. In our moments of struggle is the chance to overcome and do more than expected. Perhaps our struggles are meant to be perceived as weaknesses but our true strengths. Inspirations come from many things but mines came from a dark time

In my childhood, I was a single parent household of my mother. It was an environment of myself struggling to find myself without a father. As my mother struggled with escaping the grasps of poverty. Through my mother is someone who didn’t have a high school education, but it didn’t stop her from her goal of helping people. On countless nights she would study and review with me to gain her certification as an HHA. As she studied she had two jobs as a custodian at two different hotels. It was a situation which helped me grow as I started to take more responsibility. Such as cleaning, cooking, studying for myself and mother, and juggling schoolwork. As a result of my mother facing all these responsibilities, she managed to earn her certification as an HHA.

Once my mother secured a job as an HHA I decided I wanted my own role helping others so I taught at church. It was an experience focused on balancing religion and the forming identities of children. At every moment I loved just finding any method to help with any aspect of their lives. Although life soon changed on the news that one of my mother’s patients had sadly passed. It was a time of sadness for my family as well as the patient’s family. There was the common shock as my mother and the physician saw no chance of her passing. Yet the reality of life was that a good soul was no longer on earth but onto to heaven. During the period my mother had difficulty finding another patient for just a month to being half a year.

It was during that time that my mother couldn’t afford to pay the rent or make sure myself or she was fed. It son came to the point where we could only afford to live in her car. At first, all I could feel with hopelessness alongside my mother, but then I looked up at the sunset one early day and saw hope. The moment I saw that sunset I realized every situation can change. Soon afterward my mother received calls from various companies she had previously interviewed. Life soon became normal as we eventually moved into an apartment.

In all, I’m proud of this story as I realized struggles can and will be overcome. It inspires me at every moment that I want to quit that a better chance is always available. That experience showed me a mother that continually inspires me to be part of the healthcare field. I can’t say my childhood was easy but it is one that gives me strength. From one of the darkest moments of my life, I have found nothing can truly keep me down. At every moment I see a conflict comes my thought that it is simply a challenge needed to be overcome.
